Register as a non tax payer
If you don't pay income tax, you may not need to pay any tax on your savings interest.
This could be the case if you're:
For joint accounts, it's possible for part of the interest to be paid without tax if one or more of the account holders is a non-tax payer.
Before we can pay interest without deducting tax, you need to register for gross interest. To register simply follow the steps below
Step 1
Download and complete the R85 form. You should complete a separate form for each account you wish to register as non taxable.
Step 2
Post your R85 form(s) to the following address:
