   DATA PROTECTION ACT: Any information you provide may be held by Intelligent Finance (a division of Bank of Scotland plc), Pinnacle Insurance plc, Halifax General Insurance Services Limited and Halifax Insurance Ireland Limited. Members of the Lloyds Banking group may use it to inform you by letter, telephone, e-mail, or otherwise, about any products and services offered by our group and selected third parties, unless you have asked us not to do so. It is important to read all the information contained within your welcome pack and refer to the Data Protection page on our website or our leaflet 'All About Data Protection'. CREDIT SCORING We may use credit scoring methods to assess your application and verify your identity. Members of our group and other companies may use credit searches and other information supplied to us and/or the credit reference agencies about you and someone linked financially with you, including previous and subsequent names of parties to an account, to make credit decisions about you or other members of your household. Any of this information may also be used for identification purposes, debt tracing, preventing money laundering and managing your account. We may give details of your account including previous and subsequent names of parties to an account and how you conduct it to credit reference agencies. If you borrow and do not repay in full and on time, we may tell credit reference agencies who will record the outstanding debt. FRAUD PREVENTION We will check your details with fraud prevention agencies. If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies. Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information. We and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when: • Checking details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities • Managing credit and credit related accounts or facilities • Recovering debt • Checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance • Checking details of job applicants and employees Please contact us at on 0845 609 4343 if you want to receive details of the relevant fraud prevention agencies. We and other organisations may access and use from other countries the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies. DECLARATION So that we can deal with your application, you must agree to the following declaration: I declare that for a joint application I have authority to provide information about the other applicant, and anyone else referred to by me, and to authorise you to search, link and/or record information with credit reference agencies about us. By applying in joint names I will create a financial association with that person. I understand that information held about me by the credit reference agencies may already be linked to records relating to another person(s) and my application may be assessed with reference to any such "associated" records. I authorise Intelligent Finance to make any enquires of any third parties for reference purposes or for confirmation of employment details and for the third party to disclose any information to Intelligent Finance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Like other Financial organisations, we're legally obliged to collect, verify and record information confirming customer name, address and, in certain circumstances, income. Please be aware all documentation is required to allow the progression of any application. These should be original documents and not copies. On receipt of your application a welcome pack will be sent to you. Please include your initial deposit cheque when returning this pack. The cheques should have 'ICD' clearly written on the back of each cheque. Please refer to 'Your Documents' section to ensure you send us the correct information to allow us to process your application without delay. Please ensure that you notify Intelligent Finance of any change in circumstances relating to your purchase or mortgage before it is entered into. We may monitor and record telephone calls to help give a high level of service. SALARIES PAID IN CASH Intelligent Finance's credit risk policy requires all our customers to have their salary paid directly into a bank or building society account. Under our business rules we are unable to offer you a product if your salary is paid to you in cash. By submitting online or signing a declaration, you agree that we can use your information in the ways described.
