Withdrawing cash abroad
If you're planning to use your Visa Debit card in overseas cash machines you may experience some disruption to service. Just before you travel, give us a call on 0845 609 4343 ¹ and we can take steps to minimise any possible disruption to service.
This is necessary to protect our customers from increasing fraudulent activity at overseas cash machines.
Please note that there is no requirement to telephone us if you only plan to use your Visa Debit card in shops, in a bank abroad or at a Bureau de Change.
We always advise customers to have a range of payment options when travelling abroad. For maximum convenience you should take your debit and credit card and a small amount of currency and travellers cheques when travelling abroad.
