Plan for retirement

The value of the Basic State Pension has slowly been eroded in recent years and by the time you come to retire, it may fall short of your financial expectations. It's also worth bearing in mind that not everybody qualifies for the Basic State Pension, as you must have made a minimum level of National Insurance contributions. Currently, about 10% of men and 50% of women receive less than the full Basic State Pension because they haven't contributed enough.

That’s why it’s advisable to start saving for your future as soon as possible. If you don’t already have a pension, we strongly recommend you speak to an Independent Financial Advisor. But if you are saving for your pension (or thinking about starting one), you can take advantage of tax-free savings with an ISA from Intelligent Finance.
