What is the Intelligent Finance offset plan?
The Intelligent Finance offset plan is made up of a minimum of three "jars" – an Intelligent Finance Current Account,
one of our offset mortgage jars, and at least one Direct Access Savings jar.
What is a jar?
Each product in an offset plan is called a "jar". You can operate each of your jars separately and you can choose your own
names for them to help keep track of your finances. For example, you might want your savings to be sorted into separate jars
called "Holiday", "New Car" or "School Fees". This is where the power of offsetting comes in. We connect each of your savings
and current account jars to your mortgage jar. This means that your credit balances will be offset against your mortgage balance,
and as we do not pay you interest on those credit balances, you will save interest on the equivalent amount of your mortgage.
Can I operate my plan online?
Yes. When you register for online banking, you'll be able to see all the jars in your plan and carry out
all your usual online banking tasks. For example, you can move money between your jars, set up standing orders and payment
instructions and apply for more jars to suit your needs.
